Give The Gift of Cosiness | Christmas 2017

Cosy knitwear is one of my favourite things to give and receive at Christmas. The shops are absolutely chock full of gorgeous knitwear at the moment. High street brands such as Warehouse are no brainers for affordable luxe christmas gifts for her. Or if you're looking for something for him I always love Zara men's selection.

Since there's bound to be a whole host of amazing offers this weekend, what with it being Black Friday and all, I thought it would be a great time to pop up my first gift guide of the year. If you haven't already guessed it's knitwear themed. To help you gift all the hygge vibes to your nearest and dearest (or just treat yourself) I've picked a few of my favourites from what's on the shelves at the moment. I think any of them would make fab presents.

Personally I think jumpers are way less stressful to buy as gifts than other clothes since it's normally easier to guess sizes. Lots of them are sized in simply small, medium and large rather than the complicated number system that is hard enough to master when you're buying for yourself let alone for other people. If they are sized though and you find yourself stuck just try to go biggish, you can't go wrong with a snuggly oversized knit. Or if you're really in doubt just visit the scarf section!

Santa if you're listening I'd love to see any of these under my tree!

For the high street fashion addicts

If you have someone on your list to buy for that knows their stuff when it comes to whats hot on the high street then I've picked out a few key trends to help you impress them.

Just like last year, big sleeves are back with a bang on the high street for A/W 2017. Embellishments are everywhere too, especially pearls. These two from M&S and Warehouse tick off both trends effortlessly.
As far as I'm concerned the neckline of the moment is funnel. Flattering on everyone and way more chic than a cowl or turtle neck. Nordic knits (is there anything we won't copy from that part of the world?) are also very much in style in the knitwear world, think chunky cable knits, boxy shapes and bold but simple patterns such as a patch work effect. Basically, think fisherman jumper. I am totally obsessed with these two tone styles from M&S and Boohoo.

To finish up with the highstreet cosiness I've popped in a few ultimate hygge jumpers. The snugglier and more over sized the better here. A hygge jumper 100% necessary during the festive season and I don't think anyone would be disappointed to unwrap one of these on the 25th.

For the high end luxury seekers

If you're looking to go a bit less budget and a bit more splurge for someone special this Christmas, think chic investment pieces. When I buy high end I tend to avoid trends that will pass quickly and instead err on the side of classic. Simple styles, not too much pattern and of course in the knitwear department lots of cashmere. Here's a couple of extra special pieces in case you feel like pushing the boat out this crimbo.

For the men in your life

Be it a friend, boyfriend, dad, brother or uncle - most of us have the unfortunate task of finding a Christmas present for a guy in our life. It's so much more difficult! In the case of my boyfriend, I normally buy him loads of clothes. He may think its boring but if I don't buy him clothes, no-one will. Of course since we live in Scotland, jumpers are a must year round. Here's a few I'm thinking of picking up for him this year.
I could go on forever because I'm a tiny bit obsessed with knitwear (probs a result of living in such a cold place) but we'll call it a day at that. I hope I've given you a bit of inspiration to help out with your Christmas gift list this year. Remember most of these items have amazing discounts on them right now since it is black friday weekend so now is the time to shop and save a few pennies. Click on any of the pictures/captions to be taken straight to the websites and see what bargains you can grab. Stay tuned for more gift guides, including a special gin lovers gift guide which I'm most excited about, coming at you soon!

  2. Gorgeous selection of knitwear, I agree buying a jumper is an easier clothing item to gift. Those ones with the pearls on are just my cup of tea. I’ve never owned anything cashmere, but my Mum often has something cashmere at Christmas. Look forward to more from your gift guide! :-) xx
